Girls Education and Needs

Many girls in rural Kenya lack a dignified means to manage their menses. Research shows that girls in rural Kenya often miss up to five days of school each month due to menstruation-related challenges.

This absenteeism not only disrupts their education but also contributes to a significant gender gap in academic performance.

By addressing period poverty, OLCAP helps girls stay in school, keep up with their studies, and achieve their academic potential. We provide menstrual health kits and offer hygiene education, helping to create a future where girls in rural Kenya can attend school with confidence, dignity, and the necessary support to succeed.

By tackling the root causes of period poverty, we are empowering girls to break through the barriers that hold them back and realize their full potential.

Our hygiene education programs teach girls how to manage their periods safely and hygienically, promoting both physical and emotional well-being.

By removing the stigma surrounding menstruation and empowering girls with information, we help them feel more confident and supported.

OLCAP also provides school supplies to girls, ensuring they have the tools they need to succeed in their studies.
