The Organization of Local Communities Against Poverty (OLCAP) is a grassroots non-profit established in 2009 in Kenya, initially focusing on Lukanji Village and later expanding to serve multiple communities in Ikolomani Sub-County, one of the country’s poorest regions.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for individuals residing in rural communities through the execution of sustainable projects and programs.
OUR VISION
Our vision is to economically transform and socially empower the lives of rural communities in Kenya.
The area we serve is predominantly rural, with limited employment opportunities and a reliance on unpredictable subsistence farming. As a result, many residents live on less than $2 a day and struggle to meet basic needs, including food, shelter, and healthcare, while facing widespread hunger and preventable diseases.
OLCAP aims to address these issues through a comprehensive approach that combines material support with spiritual empowerment. The organization works to improve access to nutritious food, quality healthcare, and education, while also promoting sustainable employment opportunities
By tackling both immediate needs and long-term development, OLCAP seeks to break the cycle of poverty, foster community resilience, and create lasting positive change in the lives of the people it serves.
